Begum Kulsoom Nawaz laid to rest at Jati Umra in Lahore

Funeral prayers for Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of former premier Nawaz Sharif, were offered in Raiwind on Friday, with relatives, senior political figures and hundreds of party workers in presence.

Religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil lead the funeral prayers.

PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar along with a huge number of PML-N leaders and supporters attended the event. Delegations from other political parties including the PPP, the MQM-P and PSP have also attended the funeral.

A large number of people including party workers are visitng the residence of Nawaz to offer their condolences.

Following the former first lady’s funeral prayer, she will be laid to rest beside the grave of her father-in-law Mian Sharif at Jati Umra.
