Pakistan’s ambassador to the US Ali Jahangir Siddiqui met with the US Secretary of Defence General James Mattis on Monday.
The meeting took place on Pakistan’s request. The two sides have had strong military relations.
The Pakistani ambassador visited Pentagon, the headquarters of the US Department of Defense, where he discussed ties between the two countries.
Among other things discussed in the meeting were the ties between Afghanistan and Pakistan and the regional security situation.
Pakistan’s Defence and Army Attaché Brigadier Kamal Anwar Chaudhry accompanied Tareen on his visit to the Pentagon.
