Pakistan’s NSC condemns terror unleashed by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: The National Security Committee has condemned recent reign of terror unleashed by the Indian security forces in occupied Kashmir, which has resulted in shahadat of 20 innocent civilians and lethal injuries to hundreds.Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi chaired the 20th meeting of the NSC here Wednesday.The committee praised the extraordinary courage and resilience of Kashmiri people in the face of Indian brutalities, gross and systematic violations of all their human rights.The Committee observed that the purely indigenous character of this uprising has once again belied the false propaganda by the Indian government.The meeting reiterated Pakistan's commitment to political, diplomatic and moral support for the people of IoK in their just and legitimate struggle for their right to self-determination, also promised to them by the unanimous resolutions of the UN Security Council.The committee decided to raise the issue of unprecedented Indian brutalities at both bilateral and multilateral fora.It also reviewed the broader regional situation and expressed satisfaction over the role that Pakistan continues to play for peace and stability.Minister Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, National Security Adviser Nasser Khan Janjua, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance Miftah Ismail, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Director General ISI Lieutenant Generl Naveed Mukhtar and senior civil and military officials attended the meeting.Earlier, PM Abbasi terming the gross human rights violations in IO) as a challenge to the world conscience, said the blood and sacrifices of the valiant Kashmiris would not go waste.He was addressing the joint session of the AJK Legislative Assembly.The Prime Minister said the United Nations (UN) Security Council resolutions provide the real grounds for the resolution of the long simmering dispute between Pakistan and India and plebiscite was the only answer to the Kashmir dispute.“India will have to surrender to the will of the people of Kashmir,” he added.
