NAB Initiates Probe Against Fawad Hassan in Graft Cases

The National accountability Bureau (NAB) has started the investigation against prime minister’s principle secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad over allegedly amassing assets beyond the known means of resources.

The NAB had initiated an inquiry against Fawad Hassan Fawad to probe the charges of corruption levelled against him in different complaints submitted with the bureau. Hassan Fawad is alleged of constructing a huge plaza valued at more than Rs12 billion at a commercial plot opposite to GPO in Sadar, Rawalpindi, allotment of agricultural land and also the charges of acquiring plots in various housing schemes.Fawad Hassan have already been investigated in illegal use of powers in Ashyana Housing Scheme. Sources in NAB said that M/s Latif and M/s Conpro were two competitors in Aashiana Iqbal bidding, however contract was awarded to M/s Latif being lowest. After award of contract, CM office with intentions to oust the winning contractor, initiated inquiry.

Sources further claimed that being secretary to CM Punjab ,Fawad Hassan called project director Of Aashina Iqbal in his office and threatened him and under the garb of allegations of wrong doings in the award of contract of Aashina Iqbal to M/ s Latif and Sons asked him to cancel this contract illegally.
